- Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
- To Poddomkratta the car also establish it on props. Establish transmission in neutral situation at the released parking brake.

Back driveshaft
Removal
|
|
- For the purpose of balancing preservation the driveshaft should be established into place in former situation. Chertilka, with white paint or a center punch put labels of relative position of the case of a shaft and the holder of his crosspiece of a shaft of a leading gear wheel of differential.
|
|
- Before removing bolts and collars of fastening of the back end of the driveshaft to back differential accurately mark mutual position of two holders of a crosspiece of the kardanny hinge.
|
- Remove bolts and collars of the back kardanny hinge. For ensuring optimum access to bogs turn as appropriate a shaft (or back wheels).
|
|
- For prevention of a provorachivaniye of the driveshaft during weakening of bolts of a flange, pass a screw-driver through the holder of a crosspiece, as is shown in a picture.
|
- Attach covers of needle bearings to a crosspiece a sticky tape in order to avoid loss them in the course of removal.
- Lower a back part of the driveshaft and take its forward part from transmission or a transfer case.
- In order to avoid losses of liquid and pollution of internal components of the removed driveshaft, wrap up a case of transmission or a transfer case a plastic bag, having fixed it a rubber bandage.

Installation
|
|
Each time at driveshaft installation into place it is necessary to use new collars of holders of crosspieces. |
|
|
- Remove a plastic bag from transmission or a transfer case and absolutely wipe a surface of the last. Carefully check an epiploon condition. If the epiploon is worn-out, replace it (Head Automatic transmission).
- Enter a forward part of the driveshaft into transmission (2WD) or a transfer case (4WD).
- Lift a back part of the driveshaft in adjusting situation, having tracked combination of adjusting labels. If labels do not coincide, turn back wheels, having achieved combination of labels of a flange of a leading gear wheel and the driveshaft.

Remove the sticky tape, fixing covers of bearings and establish new collars and bolts. Tighten bolts with demanded effort.

Forward driveshaft (4WD models)
|
|
- By means of paint, chalk, a marker or a chertilka mark position of the forward kardanny hinge (model 1993 and 1994 of вып.) or CV hinge (model of 1995 вып. with the driveshaft of the Third type) in relation to the holder of a crosspiece of a shaft of a leading gear wheel of forward differential. Also mark position of the driveshaft in relation to a transfer case.

- Before starting a detachment of the kardanny hinge from the holder of a crosspiece of a shaft of a leading gear wheel of differential of the forward bridge on models 1993 and 1994 of вып. mark position of the hinge in relation to the holder (as is shown in a picture); before a CV hinge detachment from the holder of a crosspiece of a shaft of a leading gear wheel of forward differential of models of 1995 вып. mark its situation in relation to the holder (as shown).

|
- Before a detachment of the kardanny hinge from a connecting flange of a transfer case make marking of their mutual situation.
|
- To Otboltita the forward end of the driveshaft from the holder of a crosspiece of a shaft of a leading gear wheel of differential, and the back end - from a connecting flange of a transfer case (see
an illustration) also remove a shaft from the car. On models 1993 and 1994 of вып. in order to avoid loss of covers attach them to a crosspiece a sticky tape.
- Installation make upside-down. If you make replacement of the driveshaft of the Third type by models of 1995 вып., do not forget to make adjusting measurements. All fixture tighten with demanded effort.
- Clean jacks and lower the car on the earth.
- Connect a wire to the negative plug of the battery

Adjustment of the driveshaft of the Third type (some of models of 1995 вып.)

At installation of the new driveshaft of the Third type before starting operation of the car it is necessary to make its measurements and adjustment. |
|
|
- Measure distance from a CV hinge cover to a cut of its protective cover.

- If you established the new driveshaft of the Third type on model of 1995 вып., this distance should be measured and adjusted before car operation.
|
|
|
This measurement should be made at installation of the new driveshaft and at not loaded car. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. |
- In case of need make driveshaft adjustment, having weakened a lock-nut and having shifted one end of a shaft to the CV hinge or from it, achieving the demanded size of a gap between a cover of the hinge and a cut of its protective cover. Then tighten a lock-nut with demanded effort.
