Check of a condition of a cranked shaft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wash out a cranked shaft in solvent and dry it the compressed air (if there is an access to its source). Clean a special rigid brush (ershiky) all oil openings. Also wash out them a solvent stream.
  2. Check necks of radical and shatunny bearings on existence of signs of non-uniform wear, cavities and cracks.
  3. Carry out with pressing several times on each of necks an edge of a copper coin. If on a surface of necks there are copper strips, it is rough and the shaft should be given to a pro-point.
  4. Remove agnails from edges of oil openings of a cranked shaft by means of a grinding stone, a file or development.
  5. Check all other surface of a shaft on existence of cracks and other damages. For identification of the hidden cracks the shaft should be subjected to special check that is a prerogative of specialists of car-care center.
  6. By means of a micrometer measure diameters of radical and shatunny necks of a shaft and compare results to requirements of Specifications. Measurement of diameter of a neck in several points on perimeter of its forming surface will allow to reveal ovality of a neck. Measurement of diameter since the different ends of a neck closely to cheeks of cranks allows to define a neck konusnost.
  1. Measure diameter of each of necks of a cranked shaft in several points for definition of degrees of ovality and a neck konusnost.
  1. If necks of a cranked shaft are injured or have leaving for admissible according to Specifications limits a konusnost and ovality, the shaft should be given for a pro-point to a car-care center workshop. After a pro-point in the engine loose leaves of bearings of the corresponding repair sizes should be established.
  2. Check face necks (pins) of a shaft on which epiploons are put on existence of signs of wear and damages. If in necks there are flutes developed by epiploons or their surfaces have teases, agnails and scratches, it will bring (in case the appropriate measures on elimination of defects) to an exit of new epiploons out of operation in the near future after the beginning of operation of the restored engine will not be taken. It is necessary to give a shaft to a workshop for repair by a napressovka on its pins of thin plugs. In case repair is not obviously possible to be replaced a shaft.
