General information

This Head is devoted to procedures of repair and service of the V8 engines, not demanding extraction of that of the car. All information concerning removal and installation of the engine, and also major maintenance of the block and heads of cylinders can be found in Head of Procedure of the general and major maintenance of the engine.

The description given in the text of this Part of Head of procedures is made on the basis of the assumption that the engine does not act in film from the car. In case the engine is taken and established on the dismantling stand for carrying out the complete major maintenance, many of intermediate steps of descriptions will appear are inapplicable.

The specifications provided in the beginning of this Part of Head concern only the procedures described here. The technical requirements concerning performance of procedures of repair and restoration of the block and heads of cylinders are given in Head of Procedure of the general and major maintenance of the engine.

Engines to which this Head is devoted represent V8 engines, with the top arrangement of the klapanny mechanism (OHV), volume of 5211 cm3 (5.2 l), equipped with hydraulic pushers of roller type and electronic system of injection of fuel.
