Strictly adhere to the schedule of routine maintenance of the car (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance). Do not forget that when using vehicle many procedures should be made for trailer towage more often.
At all do not exceed norm of loading of the car. Except the maximum permissible load on bridges (GAWR), also such characteristics, as weight load of the hook-on device, and also mass of all luggage placed in the car and the additional equipment should be considered. Remember that any weight, placed on the trailer as a result conducts to increase of load of the car.
Do not forget that the violation of the rules of towage of the trailer can lead to the most serious consequences. Try to adhere stated below recommendations:
Admissible weight characteristics of the trailer
Into full weight gross the trailer (GTW) enter weight actually the trailer, plus weight of the cargo placed in it and the hinged equipment. The most exact way of definition of GTW is the placement of completely loaded trailer on automobile scales.
Try, that 60 % of weight of cargo were the share of a forward part of the trailer that provides implementation of the requirement about that it was the share of the hook-on device about (10 ÷15) to GTW %.
At towage of trailers with load of the hook-on device over 160 kg or when GTW exceeds 1600 kg a hitch it should be equipped with the device twist - control and turnbuckle balancing.
Hook-on devices of the Class I are intended for towage of trailers with GTW on more than 907 kg. The device always can be got in dealer offices of the Chrysler company.
Devices of the Class III allow towage of trailers in weight gross (GTW) to 2 268 kg.
The car equipped with the hook-on device of the Class IV can be used for towage of trailers with GTW to 2 948 kg.
The weight loading falling on the hook-on device should make not less than 10 %, but no more than 15 % of GTW and not to exceed at all 340 kg.
Devices of the increased durability
Class III devices
As it was already mentioned above, hook-on devices of the Class III are intended for towage of trailers in weight gross GTW) no more than 2 268 kg. For successful towage of such trailers it is necessary to use only the models meeting the following requirements:
Class IV devices
These devices allow to make towage of trailers in weight to 2 948 kg. Should be established on the following models:
