Check of a condition and replacement of the switch of the ignition/cylinder of the lock

All considered models are equipped with a safety cushion. The pillow constantly is in the "guarded" condition and can work to (be inflated) at any moment at the connected battery. In order to avoid casual operation of a pillow (and receiving as a result of a trauma) each time at carrying out any works with components of system of safety disconnect a negative wire from the battery. After a wire detachment from the battery before starting to work wait at least two more minutes (the system is equipped with the condenser to which needs time for a discharge). The lock of ignition is located on the right side of a steering column and fastens to it three sealed-up screws with heads of the TORX type (T-20) which otdavaniye needs the special tool (ask in shops of automobile accessories).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Remove the lock (see item 1-3).
By means of an ohmmeter or equipped own battery of a lamp sampler check a continuity between lock plugs.
If spetsifikatsionny requirements to a continuity on the switch (lock) of ignition are not satisfied, replace it.

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
Remove the top and bottom covers of a casing of a steering column (Head the Body).
Give the sealed-up screws, separate the ignition lock from a steering column, then disunite the electric socket and remove the lock from a column.

The lock of ignition fastens by means of three sealed-up screws with heads of the TORX type (arrow) (the bottom screw is located under a cover).

In case of need removals of the cylinder of the lock insert the ignition key and turn it in the situation LOCK. On models to 1994 (inclusive) вып. press a fixing pin a small screw-driver so that it appeared aflush with a surface. On models of 1995 вып. instead of a fixing pin the sealed-up screw which for release of the cylinder it is necessary to give is established.

Press a fixing pin for liberation of the cylinder of the lock - on models of 1995 вып. give the sealed-up screw.

Turn a key clockwise in the situation OFF that will allow to liberate the lock cylinder, however yet it is not necessary to remove the last finally.

After liberation the cylinder should leave the lock approximately on 3 mm - do not try to take it before the key will be turned in the situation LOCK and taken from the lock.

Installation make upside-down. After switch gearing with draft ползуна parking make sure that the lock tag of a column on the switch is located parallel to the electric socket.

Before installation make sure that the lock tag of a column on the lock rose parallel to the electric socket.

Insert the cylinder in the situation LOCK against the stop into a lock bottom. Pressing the cylinder, insert into it a key and turn it clockwise in the situation RUN. On models of 1995 вып. screw the sealed-up screw.
