Removal and installation of the steering mechanism

Take care of that the steering shaft was not turned at the removed steering mechanism as it can lead to safety cushion damage. One of ways of blocking of a shaft is the key povorachivaniye in the ignition lock in the situation LOCK. It is possible to pass also a seat belt through a steering wheel and to latch its buckle. |
Removal
|
|
- To Poddomkratta a car front also establish it on props. Cock the parking brake.
- Establish drain capacity under a case of the steering mechanism (only for the mechanisms equipped with the hydraulic booster). Disconnect hoses/tube of hydraulic lines and закупорьте the open ends for the purpose of minimization of losses of liquid and hit in system of pollution. In case of that existence, use for a detachment of lines a special key for cap nuts.
- Mark position of the bottom kardanny hinge of an intermediate shaft in relation to primary shaft of the steering mechanism. Remove the bottom coupling bolt of an intermediate shaft.

- Weaken nuts of these shtutserny connections (arrow) and disconnect lines of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel from a box of the steering mechanism, then mark position of the kardanny hinge of an intermediate shaft in relation to primary shaft of the steering mechanism and weaken a coupling bolt.
|
- Give a nut of fastening of a soshka of the steering mechanism, remove a washer. Mark the provision of a soshka in relation to a shaft - at installation it should be strictly observed.
|
|
- Before removal of a soshka mark its situation in relation to a shaft of the steering mechanism.
|
- By means of a dvukhzakhvatny stripper separate a soshka from a shaft of the steering mechanism.
|
|
- For separation of a soshka from a shaft of the steering mechanism use a stripper.
|
- Holding the steering mechanism, give bolts of its fastening. Lower the block, disconnecting an intermediate shaft from primary shaft of the steering mechanism. Remove the steering mechanism from the car.

The steering mechanism fastens to a frame longeron by means of three bolts (arrow).
|
|
|
Installation
|
|
- Lift the steering mechanism in adjusting situation and connect an intermediate shaft, having tracked correctness of combination of labels.
- Establish fixing bolts with washers. Tighten bolts with demanded effort.
- Put on a shaft a soshka. Make sure of correctness of combination of labels. Establish a washer with a nut and tighten the last with demanded effort.
- Establish the bottom coupling bolt of an intermediate shaft and tighten it with demanded effort.
- Connect to a case of the steering mechanism of hoses/tube of hydraulic lines and add in the tank of system of hydrostrengthening necessary amount of liquid of a demanded grade (see. Specifications to Head of Control and routine maintenance).
- Lower the car and pump over steering system (The section Pumping of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel).
